I set out to create a first-person action horror game that blends Silent Hill’s eerie tone with retro shooter dynamics, focusing on distinct environments and an unexpected narrative

GAMEPLAY
CREATING TENSION

Enhancing tension by constraining player visibility through the use of atmospheric fog, low ambient lighting, and a flashlight mechanic that narrows the field of view

SPIKING CURIOSITY

Guiding the player’s path with strategic use of light bleeding through doorways and subtle environmental storytelling elements

ENEMY ENCOUNTERS

Creating a dynamic pacing by alternating between exploration and combat zones, with varied enemy types introducing distinct challenges through different level layouts

SECRET AREAS

Incorporating hidden areas that reward exploration with valuable weapons and ammunition, enhancing player progression and engagement
